Infographic: B2B Online Marketing Trends From 2012

Optify, a provider of digital inbound-marketing software, created an infographic titled, “Search and Deploy: B2B Online Marketing Trends in 2012.” It offers an overview of B2B online marketing benchmarks and observations from last year. Here are some of the interesting findings:

-       January-March and September-October were the peak seasons

-       34 percent of leads were direct, 26.5 percent were from organic search and 12.5 percent were from referrals

-       Organic search was the top driver of traffic to B2B websites

-       Email was the channel with the highest conversion rate for B2B websites (2.89 percent), while branded search had the highest engagement levels (3.81 page views per visit)

-       Social media accounted for less than 5 percent of traffic to B2B websites – of this, 54 percent was from Facebook, 32 percent was from Twitter and 14 percent was from LinkedIn

-       82 percent of social media B2B leads were from Twitter, 9 percent were from Facebook and 9 percent were from LinkedIn

These findings are based on an analysis of 62 million visits, 215 million page views, and more than 350,000 leads from more than 600 small to midsize B2B companies in the U.S.
