AdWords to Use Local Times
by Jason Hahn

For those not living on the west coast and who have been using Google AdWords accounts, it has become a subtle but annoying task to continually remind yourself of how far your local time zone is to the Google’s Mountain View, California time zone.  In order to placate this irritating issue, Google will soon roll out a feature that will allow users to set their accounts to use the local time zone instead of the default PST time zone.  The same will apply to MyClientCenter (MCC) users.

Google explained the feature in more detail on their AdWords blog by saying “This means your entire account, including all ad serving, reporting, and billing, will be calculated and managed according to the time zone of your choice.”

The AdWords API squad also indicated that AdWords and MCC users will be invited to set their individual time zones in early May, when they will release a new version of the AdWords API that will give users the option to either “set” or “get” their time zone.  “We plan to release more detailed/technical FAQs (via the AdWords API blog) as we get closer to the launch date,” the team said on their blog.

Invitations alerting users of this new feature will be sent out in early May.
