Yahoo, Google, Microsoft are Top U.S. Web Properties
by Jason Hahn

The latest figures released by comScore indicate that Yahoo was the Web property that attracted the most unique visitors in January 2008 in the U.S.  Yahoo sites drew 138 million unique visitors in January.  There were a total of 184 million unique Web users in the U.S. during that month.

Google was second in line, getting a unique audience of 135 million U.S. Web users in January, followed by Microsoft, with 119 million unique visitors during the same month.

Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft retained their rankings from December 2007.

AOL LLC drew an audience of 109 million, while Fox Interactive Media attracted 83.8 million unique visitors during January.

EBay (78.8 million), Amazon (59.0 million), Wikipedia (55.6 million), Time Warner, excluding AOL (52.6 million), and Ask Network (52.1 million) rounded out the top 10.

Disney Online, Expedia.com, and CareerBuilder.com all realized noticeable gains from December.  CareerBuilder.com was not ranked in December, but notched the 27th spot in January.  Maybe those wacky Super Bowl ads worked.
