Your offer or buy will only be as good as your understanding of the other side.

For an advertiser, that means fully understanding what converts for the publisher's traffic, and tailoring your offer appropriately.

For a publisher, that means working with either the advertiser or your affiliate manager to learn what backs out best for the advertiser, and targeting your buys/lists appropriately.

Ideally, the relationship should be mutually beneficial so that the advertiser can keep scaling, and the publisher can stay on the offer longer and therefore, become even more profitable. The more you know, the more you grow.

Roll with the Punches and Ride the Wave.

The affiliate space is a very tumultuous one as we all know. With campaign restrictions becoming more prevalent to our business and budgets becoming more slim it can be a rollercoaster ride.

We have a little joke in our office to “ride the wave”, meaning when times are good, budgets are open and new offers are plentiful to enjoy it but always be prepared for a storm on the horizon.

One little change can affect you and your book of business so it's always important to be able to adapt to these changes and not let them drown you, just paddle up and focus on the next big one! ;)

Motivation is key when working remote.

It's ok to take a break every once in a while as long as you have that end goal in mind.

Make sure to list your goals for the month on a white board or something, so they are in your face all the time telling you what you need to be doing and how close you are to your goal!
