Hot Transfer - Pay per Call and Lead Generation
Pay per call reminds me in many ways of online video. It’s an area that shows tremendous growth and promise, but at the same time is so broad and has so many applications that wrapping one’s mind around it is difficult. There isn’t...

Spammers Go Old School and Geeky, IM Attacks Increase
According to a recent report released by IT security firm Sophos, September was both good and bad for the battle against spam. The upside was the fact that the overall ratio of infected e-mail was at an all-time low of 0.33%, or just...
Future of Internet Advertising

CHECKING OUT THE FLYOVER: CONQUERING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

Here are a few quick tips to get the most out of your email programs.
Be very familiar with the makeup of your list and the kinds of offers that make sense. Ask your network if they can provide you with multiple landing pages to test. Also, be sure to test a variety of other creative elements (subject lines, colors, from lines, etc.). Be creative and most importantly, track your results. An effective testing
program can have a tremendous impact on your results.

We're 10 days away from the big day of love. It's not too late to pick up and run Valentine's Day offers, including of the dating variety. It's no secret that these offers can generate huge numbers especially if they are unique. If you're currently running them, don't be discouraged by the lower than expected conversion rates. Hang it there, and the closer you get to the big love holiday the higher your conversion rates will be.

Know your global audience. If you are promoting offers internationally, make sure your landing pages, creative, and ad copy all mesh with the local language and culture. A payday offer targeted for UK traffic shouldn’t have someone holding a stack of US $100 dollar bills. Pay attention to these cultural details, and your ads will improve dramatically.

Keep your affiliates informed with newsletters and personal updates. Even minor changes in creatives or tools offered inside your network can change the way they monetize their traffic. One small adjustment inside your network can result into significant improvements when it comes to their monetization opportunities.

Organization and testing are key for any ppc campaign to be successful.
Be sure to thoroughly research your offer/topic first, then break down your ad campaigns and keywords into subgroups to target specific demographics. You'll get the most from your advertising spend when your targeting is more specific and you are able to clearly identify your more profitable demographics.

At the start of every month you should review the past month's revenue and see which campaigns were converting and which ones were not. Taking time to examine your stats and actually understanding them will help you better assist your affiliates in figuring out which campaigns they should run and what method of distribution they should use. Analyzing the numbers can help you figure out patterns and better ways to increase the profitability of each campaign. The numbers do not lie.

Make sure to show appreciation to the people you work with. Even just a thank you shows that you noticed the work they are doing. Sometimes in a fast passed industry, things/people get overlooked and it always makes a person feel good to be recognized or acknowledged for keeping up their hard work!

Staying focused is the key ingredient to success and is definitely true in online marketing.
There are a million different things you can do to make money online, but if you don't focus on a few you won't succeed at any of them. Focus on the campaigns that yield the largest margins and traffic.

Guppy Media
Certainly automation in its various formats, whether utilizing software and tools to improve efficiency is by all means necessary to run and operate profitable and efficient operations.
Also creating programs to streamline many activities definitely has its merits. I would say however, perhaps moreso pertinent to sales and marketing teams, that becoming too reliant on automation could have an adverse affect for the mid to longer term. In my mind nothing replaces, or will ever replace for that matter, "the human touch" at least as it relates to consumating any sales transactions and deals.
As an example, the cross pub feature within Direct Track is a great feature within DT.
At Guppy, we actually maintain a "no cross pub" policy internally, because I believe that it detaches from the necessary engagement that is needed for one on one interaction. Each salesperson is also actually required to provide all unique links and creative manually, for the primary reason to stay engaged with the prospect - this always keeps opportunities for upsell available as well as solidifies the personal relationship which is so critical between the AM and the prospect.
Do we all agree that stronger 1:1 relationships and personal touch is tantamount to greater sales and higher close ratios? Im curious to know everyone's elses policies / thoughts...

Delegation is one of the most important management skills. These rules and techniques below will help you to delegate well.
Good delegation saves you time, develops your people, grooms a successor, and motivates. Poor delegation will cause you frustration, demotivates and confuses the other person, and fails to achieve the task or purpose itself. So it's a management skill that's worth improving.
a) Define the task
b) Select an individual or team
c) Assess ability and training needs
d) Explain reasoning
e) Express desired results
f) Implement a deadline
g) Support
h) Feedback on results
Managing the way you receive and agree to do delegated tasks is one of the central skills of managing.
The principles are just as useful for people being managed.
