Digital Thoughts
This week’s Trends looks at the search engine space and ends by suggesting a shift in search is on the horizon. Search and the related pay per click advertising have been among the hottest industries on the net. There are very few billion dollar brands online, but the majority that do exist have a strong play in search. Unlike years past though, the search space no longer looks attractive. The face of the search space has changed. The energy is different… it no longer feels the same despite the innovations and improvements.

Trends
Search as an industry is always in the news. And these past few week's have been no exception. Rather than earnings or user base statistics, the most recent news has focused on feature developments and operational strategy. For this week’s Trends we provide a summary of some of the search engine activity with an emphasis on the release of new tools and features.

The Elders
While thinking about the current political debate about social security, it is important that we not take lightly the fact that the elderly population is currently growing at an astounding rate in America.

Karma Chameleon
Since I commute from San Francisco to Silicon Valley everyday, I ventured into the world of Books on CDs (only for a short while though- ADD at its finest). During this brief phase, I picked up Deepak Chopra’s The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

Scott Rewick’s Tip of the Week

The YFDirect Trust Network

"Forget Good to Great. Go Great to Greatest. "

Tip Of The Weekk

"You should consider providing your employees with a career path within your organization, if you want to be successful in building a strong company with committed employees. For example, if you run a technology company, you might want to consider hiring technical support persons that have a career path into either a programming role, a sales/account executive role, a lead technical support position, or client services. If you provide no path for career advancement, then you will be left with 9-5'ers and possibly people that have no ambition to grow your business. Think about your employees careers, they are your most important asset."
